Tugugarao is one of the key cities in the Cagayan Valley Region. It is can also be a base for the famous Callao Caves or a transit city for Palaui Island. Recently, I had the privilege to be billeted at one of Tugegarao’s finest hotels, Las Palmas de San Jose. Read more…
Las Palmas de San Jose is located inside a residential subdivision, which conceals it from the hustle and bustle of the downtown. Accessibility is not an issue though, as the hotel is still well within the city, and tricycles can easily take anyone to the hotel. Plus, they offer free airport transfers, or if one asks, they could provide transfers to nearby transport terminals
The staff were warm, and check-in was easy. I was lead into my deluxe single room at the second floor of the new building, which as I was told, is barely a year old.
Like the interiors of the hotel, my room was elegantly furnished and decorated. What I first noticed though were the parquet floor and the wooden furniture, which added classiness to the room. The shower, meanwhile, was clean and had complete amenities.
The room had adequate space for a wooden closet and a desk, and thankfully, it had an LCD TV. Those needing internet connectivity will benefit from the free wi-fi access.
The following morning after a good night’s sleep, I went down to get breakfast, which came with the room rate. Among a selection of Filipino and American breakfast sets, I had bacon.
I then checked out the surroundings. Elegantly landscaped, the hotel boasts of a large swimming pool and function halls that could apparently hold different occasions.
Truth be told, I thoroughly enjoyed the peacefulness of my room, since I was tired after spending the whole day going around. As a matter of fact, my room made me stay in the whole night, not that I was missing much in town at night anyway.
All in all, Las Palmas de San Jose is the ideal place to stay, whether for business or leisure. Its peaceful location makes it the right hideaway in Tuguegarao.
