The magic of beautiful music in beautiful places is what we aim to create in the Lammermuir Festival. François Leleux, oboist extraordinaire, will assuredly do that as our artist in residence. So too will the great American soprano Christine Brewer in Richard Strauss and pianist Steven Osborne in Messiaen. The Heath Quartet will lead us across our beautiful county in four superb recitals, and our friends the Dunedin Consort will give us some of their wondrous Handel. Tenebrae’s exquisite voices will grace three of our most beautiful places – and we offer opera for the first time, with Monteverdi’s ravishing Coronation of Poppea.
Three of our performances are presented in partnership with BBC Radio 3. East Lothian in September is a bewitching place of stunning landscape and sky, fascinating history – and a feast of glorious music. We’d love to share it with you.
