Hello makeupholics!Lakme Nail Color Remover has been my favorite since I saw it first on my mum’s table say about 10-12 years ago. Me and my mom have never used any other brand for removing our nail color. Earlier it was priced Rs 30-35 and now it retails for Rs 75, but we still love it! Recently Maybellinetoo jumped the bandwagon and launched the Color Show nail remover. This was the only product that was missing from the brand :)

Lakme vs. Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel Remover
PackagingBoth the Lakme and Maybelline Nail Removers have similar transparent cubical glass packaging with beige screw-on cap for Lakme and black for Maybelline. The opening has a plastic stopper with a tiny hole to control the flow of remover. Both the bottles are travel-friendly!
Lakme vs. Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel Remover : Review & Comparison
EfficacyThe Lakme Nail Color Remover is a lavender-blue colored liquid and it transfers to cotton balls/pads as a colored liquid. The formula works well in removing nail colors and is very gentle on nails and one do not need to rub the cotton pad hard against the nails to get rid of the nail color. Just swipe it gently and the paint gets removed easily without leaving any color/residue on the nails. It works best with normal and shimmer nail colors but with gradient and confetti ones, you might have to use extra to take care of them. My nails didn’t look dried up as it contains Vitamin E.
The Maybelline Color Show Nail Remover is a turquoise colored liquid and it transfers the same on the cotton balls/pads. The formula works pretty well in removing nail colors but one would need 3-4 swipes to get rid of the residue. Although this is a acetone-free nail remover, it leaves a whitish cast on the nail that weathers away within seconds. My nails do look a bit dehydrated/dried up after using this. It works well on normal nail colors but difficult to remove the shimmery, gradient and confetti ones.

SmellThe Lakme Remover has a faint floral scent that dissipates very quickly whereas the Maybelline has a strong fruity scent that lingers on nails for a few minutes after use.

I would recommendI will definitely recommend Lakme Nail Color Remover over Maybelline in terms of formula and availability. It’s good to see our favorite budget beauty brand Maybelline coming up with a nail polish remover but it would have been better if this worked well on the stubborn nail colors too.
