PackagingThe L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Pressed Compact is packed in a gorgeous bright pink cardboard box that contains all the necessary details, like – price, quantity, best before, etc. The compact comes in a bright fuchsiaand white packaging that looks very attractive and gorgeous! The casing has a separate compartment below the powder for the mirror and the sponge. There is a notch in the compartment so that one can easily lift out the puff for application. The compartment closes with a click so it is quite travel friendly and sturdy. Personally, I love this concept of packaging! I do not like compacts where the puff sits on top of the powder pan. The mirror is very helpful for touch ups. However, one has to go back and forth between the mirror and the product during application – indeed a very subtle thing but makes a huge difference on user’s experience.

TextureL’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Transforming Compact Powder has a finely milled, smooth and silky texture. It gives a silky feeling to the skin, without drying or being cakey. The finish is almost matte and satiny. It blends into the skin quite well and works great as a setting powder for liquid foundations and concealer.
Coverage & PayoffThe L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Transforming Compact fairs well! It controls oil for good 5 hours before I feel the need for a touch up. The coverage is light to medium; hence you can skip foundation on daily basis. The powder softens the look of pores and does not settle on fine lines making the look uneven. The powder also has a SPF 34 and PA++ making it ideal for daily day time wears, especially in summers! On oily skin this might not work well as one of my friend with extremely oily skin states, “My skin started looking oily after 2 hours of wear time and I needed instant touch ups”.
Shades I ownThe shade range is decent! There are 5 shades launched in the L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique All in One Transforming Powder range. All the shades have warm undertones and best to suit majority of Indian complexion, without looking ashy. My perfect shade is G2 Golden Ivory that looks natural on my skin. G7 Golden Amber is the darkest shade and will suit deeper skin tones However, I use this shade for subtle bronzing and contouring.

Overall verdictThe L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Transforming Compact is an excellent budget friendly pressed compact available in India at just Rs 399. It performs really well for the price and keeps face matte for good amount of time. The shade selection is pretty decent and many skin tones would find a close match. I wouldn’t recommend this to extremely oily skin!
