Following a dinner party at a friend’s house over the summer, I came away a huge fan of kitchen rugs. Always one for practicality, I initially wondered, why the heck would anyone put an area rug in their kitchen? But rational aside, I knew I had to have one. Now. Design is not always practical – people spill things, drag dirt into the house and pets leave poo-poo presents where you least expect them; but the feeling of having a beautiful rug in our space and a little texture underfoot was something I was willing to try out.
