Kitchen Conundrums!

The kitchen revamping is finally moving along. We have had a few glitches along the way! My kitchen is 15 years old, and it was done custom at the time so the cabinets are truly in good shape and classic so it makes no sense for me to rip them out. A few changes will be made such as the corbels that flank the stove and sink will be replace with stream lined ones that are much more simple in look. I still need to choose paint color but I think I have narrowed that down to a few choices. The floor at first gave me a heart attack as it appeared red before the finish was applied! Thank goodness the brown immediately surfaced upon application of amber toned finish. It is hard to make choices when you know this may not be your forever home, although I do not see us going anywhere in the near future one never knows. Kitchens can be expensive and I am learning just now much cost has increased since it's been over a year since I did a kitchen project. The price of marble has sky rocketed! I had my heart set on calcutta premium and received the quote last week for my side counters, not including island or butlers pantry and it was $17,000.00. Since this is not new cabinetry and I am not building my dream home that cost doesn't make sense for us at this time. So, it was back to the drawing board this past week and I am seeking "White Carrara" or Quartz. Stay tuned as it unfolds, we are hopeful to see it all together in about 6 weeks!
