TransCanada Corp’s 700,000 barrel-per-day Cushing-to-Port Arthur, Texas, pipeline will begin service on Jan. 3, the company said in a tariff filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on Monday.
The pipeline has been exposed to have numerous dents, and faulty welds and was the target of a lengthy direct action campaign including numerous tree sits in Texas in the fall of 2012 and 11 lockdowns in Oklahoma between February and June 2013.
