gulab jamun using instant mix and you may think why she is posting and all.Being a food blogger,i love to make everything from scratch and this is the post for those who are struggling in making gulab jamun for the first time with the instant mix during festive occasions.
This is the DIY recipe and easy to make recipe within minutes and the trick of making this without any disaster in first attempt is to knead it gently with milk or with water.According to me knead it with milk to get melt in mouth jamuns.I tried kala jamun to post it here and to give some tips on making with instant mix.
Kala jamun is simply gulab jamun made either in oblong shape or in usual shape stuffed with dry fruits or made as it is.Kala means black which means the jamuns are deep fried and dunked in sugar solution and served with chopped nuts.
Use any instant mix and make a dough with water or milk and make a soft dough.Knead the dough with patience and it should be so dry or so moist.Make a soft dough and it should not be stretchy like bread dough.Otherwise it will become so hard and took more time to absorb the sugar syrup.
When i started to cook quick recipes during my schooling,i want to try the gulab jamun recipe.I tried my first jamun recipe with an instant mix and came out well.After came to blogging,i came to know the recipe of making gulab jamuns from scratch and i am making it from scratch everytime when am craving for jamuns.Will post the khoya gulab jamun recipe and it came out super perfect and yummy.

an Indian sweet made with instant mix
- gulab jamun mix - 1 pack- 200 gm
- sugar - 400 gm
- rose essence - 3 drops
- chopped nuts - for garnishing
- milk or water - for kneading
- oil - for frying
- water - 2 cups
- In a wide bowl ,unpack the mix and break the large particles if seen.
- Sprinkle water or milk little by little and knead a soft dough.The dough should not be stretchy.
- Make sugar syrup with sugar and 2 cups of water and the sugar syrup should be in sticky consistency.
- Add rose essence to it and switch off the flame.
- Meanwhile make small balls from the dough without any cracks.
- Heat oil for frying and once it get hot,lower the flame.
- Gently add the balls in the oil and deep fry it by stirring the oil gently without disturbing the balls.
- Remove it once it get golden brown.Again fry the balls till it attains black color.Remove and drain excess oil.
- Add the fried jamuns in sugar syrup.Leave it for 2 hours to be inside the syrup.
- After 2 hours,serve it with finely chopped nuts.
