On the 12th July 2011 I arrived in Minneapolis to join Dave Cornthwaite paddling the Mississippi. Later that day I tried Stand Up Paddleboarding for the first time, a 45 minute paddle on something completely alien to me. On the 14th July I began paddling with Dave from Minneapolis to Memphis. On the 10th August we set a World Record, on the 14th August we arrived in Memphis.
One month, 1,120 miles paddled, one world record - I'm an ordinary person like everyone else but I just said YES!
Take every opportunity you can, seize the day (as they say) and say YES when you're offered the opportunity of a life time, you won't regret it. Thanks to Dave Cornthwaite for this invaluable lesson!
