Beauty in Battle is the third book in this three-book series. The story sets a fast pace of hide and seek, with danger lurking around every corner that Harper and Jack turn. They are doing battle with the enemies seeking harm for financial gain, including Derrick, while Red is safely cared for elsewhere. Each time a book in this series was released, I couldn’t put it down and read it cover to cover!
This book continued in the same vein as the previous one. Jack is strong and steady in his support of Harper for who she is and not her past actions. This final story brought Harper’s journey to the best possible ending.
As readers learn, Harper is a young Christian, but her belief in God’s grace and forgiveness doesn’t erase the details of her past or give her any confidence that others will see beyond her past to the person she is trying to become. The author does remind readers that God has a purpose and a plan, even when we choose the wrong path in our life journey. God is there to raise us up and forgive us while guiding us with a new life before us.
Aside from her family and her Savior, Robin Patchen has two loves—writing and traveling. If she could combine them, she’d spend a lot of time sitting in front of her laptop at sidewalk cafes and ski lodges and beachside burger joints. She’d visit every place in the entire world—twice, if possible—and craft stories and tell people about her Savior. Alas, time is too short and money is too scarce for Ms. Patchen to traipse all over the globe, even if her husband and kids wanted to go with her. So she stays in Oklahoma, shares the Good News when she can, and writes to illustrate the unending grace of God through the power and magic of story.
