I’ve had a few natural-living fails recently
My most recent batch of yogurt turned out like this:
And my experimental-wingin’-it coconut flour blueberry pancakes this morning turned out like this:
which quickly turned into this:
which can only be described as mediocre at best.
Plus, I don’t know why, but my son’s cloth diapers are leaving a wretched rash on his little bum whenever he wears them, so we are using chlorine-free disposables for the time-being.
Anyway, the point of showing you these little failures is {hopefully} to be of encouragement.
Health is a journey, and not always a pretty one.
I don’t pretend to know everything, or to never make a mistake.
So that’s why discovering this morning that I had been featured on one of my favorite blogs of all time: THE ORGANIC BIRD, was such a huge encouragement.
Check out my favorite post she’s ever written HERE.
It reminded me that people want something real.
Perfection is no more honest than it is attainable, and so I thought a little dose of my current reality might be refreshing, perhaps humorous, but most of all, might encourage you to continue.
Just because you don’t have access to raw milk, or had to throw out an entire batch of kombucha gone wrong, or just can’t seem to kick the diet-coke habit, doesn’t mean you have failed, or shouldn’t keep trying.
Because it is worth it. Every little bit that you give it. Consistency will come, as will more skill and better understanding.
So don’t be afraid to fail. Wing-it. Experiment. Find joy in the process. But most importantly – just keep at it!
live well. be well.
