Join Skating Night to Support Boston’s First Public Parks

Posted on the 11 February 2014 by Fopg @fopg

BostonCommonFrogPondThe Young Friends of the Public Garden is hosting a private skating night on the Boston Common Frog Pond on the evening of Wednesday, February 26.  This is the second annual private skating night organized by the group.  Last year’s event attracted more than 70 skaters who took to the ice for an evening of wintery enjoyment.

“Our first skating event was so well received that we knew almost immediately that we wanted to offer it again,” said Kate Gundry, chair of the Young Friends group.  “Inviting friends, both new and old,  for a festive evening of skating to support some of Boston’s most historic treasures makes for a wonderful event!”

In support of the Friends of the Public Garden, the Young Friends has come together to raise goodwill and funds to assist with the work of preserving and enhancing Boston’s first public parks – the Boston Common, Public Garden, and Commonwealth Avenue Mall. Through festive, community-oriented events, the Young Friends engages with their neighbors, getting one another involved for the betterment of the parks.

Tickets to this event are $35 per person, and include skate rental.  To purchase tickets or for more information on how to become involved with Young Friends, visit www.friendsofthepublicgarden.org.
