Absolutely unreal! Johnny Thunders, formerly of the New York Dolls, went on the form his own band after they broke up. Of course they broke up in part due to the drug use of Thunders and bassist Jerry Nolan, among other things. Both of them were on heroin. It was not long afterwards that first Nolan and then Thunders were dead of heroin overdoses. I saw Thunders live at the Whisky a Go Go in LA, in I think 1981.
I believe they only released one album, L.A.M.F., before they also broke up. They were one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever. Flash in the pan, sure, but many of the greats were just that.
