Joan Baez, “Diamonds and Rust”

Posted on the 09 February 2014 by Calvinthedog

You know really, this is truly some beautiful music that both males and females can get into equally. Joan was always one of the greats and the story of her and Dylan was a great one, a great, legendary romance between two geniuses.

I wrote a while back that it is uncertain whether female geniuses exist. They do exist, but they exist in the form known as the Female Genius as opposed to the Male Genius which we are more familiar with. And yes this song is a perfect example of the Female Genius, the ultimate flowering and explosion of the potential of the female mind and essence. The Female Genius of course deals with the internal world of feelings, dreams, sensations, love, passion, relationships, the natural world, the world of people and the society of people as opposed to the abstract world of ideas we see in the Male Genius.

There is a Male Genius and a Female Genius. They are quite different, but I am not sure that one is better than the other.
