Magnolia Pictures released a new, intense and slightly spoilerish trailer for its' upcoming film, The Double, and it looks brilliant. In this film, Jesse Eisenberg plays the role of Simon James, an introvert, normal human being who finds people ignoring him wherever he goes. His life is an endless circle of boring events, until he meets James Simon, a person who has the exact same looks of Simon but with an entirely opposite attitude. He's all Simon wishes himself to be. James begins to take over Simon's life by stealing everything he wish he had. The film looks amazing. It actually reminded me of Fight Club.
Synopsis -:
Simon is a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams. He feels powerless to change any of these things. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. James is both Simon’s exact physical double and his opposite – confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simon’s horror, James slowly starts taking over his life.
The Double will be releases in VOD and in theaters on May 9.
