Is #Love Really Blind Or Are We Just Equipped With Blinders?

By Bren @Virtual_Bren

You know what I’m talking about! You see it with your friends. You best friend complains constantly about how much of a loser her old man is, yet she loves him. She loves him despite his:

  • cheating
  • gambling
  • laziness
  • burping and flatulence

Are We Seriously That Blind?

I think what comes into play in a relationship is tolerance. We learn to tolerate our partners flaws. But why?

Are we just equipped with Blinders or are we equipped to Tolerate certain imperfections in our partners?

Tolerate

For Example

Cranky Pants angers me every night and has been for almost ten (10) solid years. This man SNORES despite me telling him to:

  • Turn over!
  • Stop snoring!
  • Shut the hell up!

And my efforts to get him to stop snoring by:

  • Touching his arm
  • Moving his leg with my foot
  • Ruffling the covers
  • Clearing my throat very loudly
  • Pushing his body
  • Sliding my hand under his pillow to move it up and down
  • Tickling his nose with a piece of paper

Then, the rat bastard gets mad at me and yells at ME to turn the tv down! Really? I have to keep the tv that loud to hear it over that monstrosity of a noise coming from your mouth!

Tell me y’all are feeling me here!

What About Other Flaws?

Do we just tolerate these because we are too lazy to kick his annoying sagging bum to the road and start over training another annoying man?

Do we just tolerate these because we truly love this man and know we aren’t perfect either, however we ARE more perfect than them AND our habits are less annoying?

Do the Pro’s outweigh the Con’s so we just settle and learn to deal?

Or is Love really that blind that no matter what this person’s flaws, we’d rather suck it up because we once took those vows that said “For Better, For Worse?

What Do You Think?

I know your partners aren’t perfect and have some annoying habits. Come on and fess up! What annoying habits do you partners have and why do you overlook them?
