Iron Man 3 (3D) Review
So, I went to see Iron Man 3 last week. It was a blast. The movie in general was kickass and RDJ couldn't have been more badass. Now, about all the hype that everyone's talking about. Is this going to be the final installment of the billion-dollar profiting movie series? Is it true that the Mandarin is one of the best villains ever to show up after The Joker in The Dark Knight? Well, I'm afraid you're not gonna like the answers.
Huge spoilers ahead!!
As it turns out, Iron Man 3 seems like the end of my most favorite movie series. RDJ is already talking about getting old and plans of retiring superhero roles to do some serious stuff. But, the movie may continue with a different cast, especially considering the huge box office success of the third title.
Iron Man 3 basically shows that Iron Man is not as awesome as he thinks and depicts his flaws, which puts not only himself but also his loved one's in the face of danger. The movie is filled with surprises. You will be getting them until the very ending of the film. The main villain, Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) turns out to be sort of super-human as well. Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) also gets some of the action by wearing an Iron Man suit and also kicks some butts at the end as well. The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) on the other hand, turns out to be just a decoy that Killian uses to cover his tracks.
The destruction begins when Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) casually hands out his address to the press, challenging The Mandarin to visit his house. Well, Tony is well known for making smart-ass decisions but this one wasn't one of them. The next day, he gets attacked at a very vulnerable situation and takes damage pretty hard. He ends up in nowhere, with his armor broken. Only help he gets is from a little kid. These two teams up to save the day.
Iron Man 3 (3D) Review
First of all, I must say that Shane Black's take on Iron Man was great. The whole movie was packed with awesome action, drama and few jokes as well. The audience behind me was cracking up pretty hard, even at the smallest funny bits. But, I didn't find them that hilarious because I was so in to the whole story. Cool new armors came in on the action at the end and they goes away after just a few minutes, with a fireworks show. Which in my opinion, was a bit lame. Although, I loved the action of those armors. Hope I would get to see them sometime again soon. Oh, and the Iron Patriot (Don Cheadle) was pretty cool too. Most of his moments ends up as jokes and mistakes.

When talking about acting, visual and CG effects. I really don't have any complaints to make except for the lack of pop-out 3D effects. I mean the whole point of paying extra for the 3D version of the film is to get more thrills and of course some 3D. But, it seemed like Iron Man 3 was focused more into casual 3D instead of popping out objects into the audience, which I actually missed. And I also read some reviews where some critics seems to praise Ben Kingsley's portrayal of Mandarin as one of the best villains after the Joker. Well, I'm sorry to say that I really couldn't see it. Honestly, he did a pretty good job in that double-acting. However, it can't be compared with Heath Ledger's Joker.
Iron Man 3 (3D) Review
In conclusion, all I have to say is that the movie was really amazing. Not the best 3D experience I was hoping for but there was enough action and excitement to make me forget about all that. Sadly, this wasn't the series ending I was expecting. It just hits you in the end like sticking a needle, by surprise. I just wish there was a better ending to it. Overall, the movie was very entertaining, so I'm gonna give it a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
