I know, it’s insanely late. But before my January My Glam/ Ipsy bag arrives, I wanted to share the contents of December’s bag! The bag itself is not worth remarking on so, without further ado, here are the contents:
I’ll start with a product I know that I love. It’s a mini Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in “Zero” (it is 0.03oz and I believe the full size is 0.04oz, so it’s a generous mini). I have hundreds of these and need another one like I need a hole in the head, but I like to keep them everywhere…just in case! So it’s nice to have yet another back up and, since I know I love it, it makes it even better. I really like the more subtle black of “Zero” too because I find the super black “Perversion” to be a bit much if I’m wearing very little makeup or a really natural eye (I do love “Perversion” too though!). “Zero” is great for more of an everyday, natural look. Urban Decay does not test on animals, but I believe they have been acquired by L’Oreal who is a huge offender. Whether or not UD is still cruelty-free depends on how you want define it and I’m not going to get into it in this post! J
Next is a NYX Ultra Pearl Mania Loose Eyeshadow in “Mink Pearl”. It’s a really pretty peachy-gold. I’ve never tried these before and, I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of loose shadows only because they are typically quite messy. But it’s a really pretty color and I’ll definitely give it a try. NYX does not test on animals and is PETA and Leaping Bunny certified.
This is a half-size of the Mai Couture Highlighter Paper.
There are 25 sheets that are similar to blotting papers, except they are
intended to add highlighting powder where the paper is placed. These seem like
they would be rather difficult to use and not at all precise, but could be
great on the go. The color looks quite beautiful – kind of a subtle shimmering
peach. I feel like I would be more likely to use these by picking up the
highlighter on a brush and then applying it instead of directly from the paper,
but we’ll see. I’m not sure if this company tests on animals or not and haven’t
had a chance to email them yet.
Next out of the bag is a Mirabella Prime for Face and Eyes. This seems like a generous sample (it’s 0.45oz) and I really like the idea of one primer for the entire face and eyes. I’m not sure I’m convinced it will work well for both, but I’m always looking for a better eye primer since I have one eye that always creases lately. I wish I could figure out why and why just the one eye?!? J But anyway, I’m excited to try this out! As far as I know, this company does not test on animals.
Finally, there is a full size Lip Gloss from Bombshell Cosmetics in “Hot Mess”. I feel like they had a Bombshell lip gloss in a prior bag, but I cannot remember. Anyway, “Hot Mess” looks like a beautiful classic red. It has a doe foot applicator and does not seem to have a distinct scent. Very pretty and perfect for Christmas (now that it’s over :/). According to their website, Bombshell Cosmetics does NOT test on animals.
Nothing I am terribly excited about this month, but nothing I wouldn’t like to try out either. Now that MyGlam has changed to Ipsy, they definitely have redeemed themselves…at least in my opinion! Ipsy seems to be consistently good, if not great and they seem to pick mostly, if not entirely, cruelty-free brands which makes me feel much better about the samples I receive.
