Yet another shiny pink bubble wrap bag has arrived in my mailbox, which means it's Ipsy time!!! :) I've been pretty happy with Ipsy lately, so let's see if the streak of goodness continues...! I really like the bag this month - it's a deep grape color with a golden crest that's kinda clever. It's cute and back-to-school appropriate. But on to the important stuff - what's inside?!?!
The first item I pulled out is a lip balm. I'm a huge lip balm junkie, but because of that, I really don't need more right now! Regardless, you can never have too many lip balms, right? :) This is a Cherry Lip Balm from Noya. It is Kosher, All-Natural, Preservative-Free and Not Tested on Animals. I'm not a huge cherry fan, but I'll give it a shot. As long as it's not cough-syrup-like, I don't mind!
Next up is a product from Pacifica. It is the Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream. It's supposed to be a self-adjusting color, which I usually find to give very minimal coverage, but I'll try it out. It is 100% Vegan, Cruelty-Free, Contains NO petroleum, parabens, SLS or phthalates. Also, a portion of the proceeds helps to support clean water! I really like all of that! :) The packaging is really pretty too and it's a decent size sample (10mL/0.34 fl oz).
A little green tube gracing the silhouette of a fairy greeted me next. That always means a product from Pixi Beauty! This time it is the Lash Booster Mascara in "Blackest Black." I always love mascara samples too! I have so many mascaras to try lately that I feel like I will never have enough time to try them all! :) Since I'm always searching for the greatest mascara ever made, I'll gladly try it out! To the best of my knowledge, Pixi is cruelty-free.
A tub from Mica Beauty Cosmetics followed the little Pixi. It is another Shimmer Powder in the color "Bronze." It looks like a gorgeous rusty-bronze shade. It's a huge tub of loose shadow too! I'm calling it shadow because I can't imagine where else anyone might use it. This is my kind of shadow color, so I'm really happy about that too! There is a little bunny logo on the bottom (though I don't recognize the exact logo - it's not from PETA or Leaping Bunny), which I assume is saying that it is cruelty-free, but I have not really investigated the cruelty-free status of Mica Beauty before.
Finally, there is a generous 1oz tube from Michael Todd True Organics. I really love most Michael Todd products that I have tried - I say most because I'm pretty sure one of them began this horrible string of breakouts that won't stop. This particular sample is of the Pumpkin Nutrient-Rich Facial Mask. I have actually tried this mask before, and though I really love it, the full size that I already have is probably enough to last me until it expires! And since I don't typically take masks with me on trips, I'm not sure I really needed a sample size of this. But I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, right? :) This is an amazing mask! It claims it moisturizes and nourishes, and it is for all skin types except Sensitive. It tingles a bit upon application, so I would agree that it's probably not great for sensitive skin types. As far as I know, Michael Todd is a cruelty-free company.
And that was the Ipsy My Glam bag for August! If you are interested in joining Ipsy, you can click my referral link here, or go direct to their website. Out of the mainstream services that I have tried, I would say that Ipsy has been doing the most consistently good job of sending nice samples that are interesting enough to try - and without foil packets! The brands are typically cruelty-free, but they do work with some companies, like Benefit, that are not considered cruelty-free by most.
Hope you enjoyed this month's look at Ipsy's August bag!!! :)
I know I skipped July and may get around to posting it some day, but it's just not ready to go yet. That's right, I did August before July! :)
