It’s Ipsy bag time! I should start with the bag I suppose.
This month it’s a navy blue bag printed with a record on a turntable. It says
“Beauty Rocks.” Instead of me blabbering for a while, let’s just dive right in.
Sound good? Ok! J
So, first we have a decent sized tube from Dr. Brandt. I believe that this brand
is not cruelty free, but I’m not certain on that. Anyway, it’s the Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant.
Sounds nice enough, but since I have actual microdermabrasion treatments regularly
to help with acne, so I’m not sure I should be using this. I’m sure it’s just
lovely though! J
Next up is a Roll On
Perfume Oil from Demeter in the
scent “Jasmine.” It’s a generous
size, but it’s not my favorite scent. It’s not offensive in any way. It’s
actually a nice, soft floral, but it’s a straight floral and I’m not the
biggest fan of florals. I know absolutely nothing about the company’s cruelty
free status either. I would say this is a great sample for most people – and
definitely a step above the little baby samples you get at Sephora or from
BirchBox – but I’m not sure about it.
There is an eye shadow from Elizabeth Mott – it’s called Pop!
Goes the Shadow. The box has the PETA logo on it, so that’s good! J The color is called “Champagne,” which sounds pretty
accurate to me. It’s a gorgeous, buttery shadow that would work with many, many
other shades to create a complete eye look. It’s 0.07oz which is a bit larger
than a lot of full size shadows as well!
This next sample is one I’ve seen pop up in other people’s
boxes from time to time, but never mine. I actually have a number of these
already, and I really like them! It is a full
size Tinted Lip Balm from Cailyn in the shade “Apple Pink.” I was rather disappointed
when I first saw the color because it looks like a brownish nude and I don’t do
well with those shades. However, when I swatched it, it’s actually a pretty
pinkish nude color that I might get a lot of wear out of! So yea for the Tinted
Lip Balm! They’re so pigmented and
pretty darn comfortable too, plus they last a really long time! I really like
these, although I always forget I have them. J
They’re difficult to store with regular lipsticks so they are often forgotten,
but they shouldn’t be because they’re great!
Finally, there’s a mini eyeliner from Urban Decay! This is their new 24/7
Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil in “Black Velvet.” I actually debated
buying this earlier in April, but decided to pass, so I am thrilled to have a
sample size – I should call it a travel size! It is very black, soft, creamy and matte. I love the regular 24/7 Pencils, so I’m really excited to have a
chance to try the new formula as well! J
I am pretty happy with this bag. There are a couple duds,
but I’m sure some people would be thrilled with them. The Cailyn Tinted Lip
Balm and the Urban Decay Velvet Eye Pencil make the entire bag fantastic to me!
J Good job as usual

I’m rarely disappointed with these bags. They’re almost always pretty good! J
