Interesting video by Journeyman Pictures focusing on the horrific deadly rape case in New Delhi recently. For the first time, Indian society is confronting this sort of thing.
Also details the gang rape and torture of a young girl when she was 13 years old. She is now 21, and the case has yet to come to trial. This is typical of the Indian justice system, which is one of the most crippled justice systems on Earth. It simply does not work. Cases take years to come to trial, that is if they ever come to trial. High powered persons escape justice. Thugs persecute victims. Hush money is offered to victims to make them shut up and drop the case.
This young woman has refused to drop the case even after 8 years. Her family has been offered money beyond their wildest dreams to drop the case, but they ill not take it. Interestingly, it is her father who is the most steadfast. Over the 8 years, she has somehow lost all of her friends, and now she has none. She is under constant threat, and has received countless threats of death and harm. She requires a 24-hour armed watch outside her home to protect her from thugs who want to kill her.
In India, as in some other parts of the world, a woman who has been raped is seen as damaged goods, so she normally shuts up about it. In many cases, attempts are made to get her to marry her rapist. This is seen as the preferred solution. Unfortunately, this seems to be the case in parts of the Arab World too.
An undercover TV investigation of police officers shows that in India, cops (and society at large) blame women for their rapes. If they dress scantily, the man cannot control himself and apparently he is forced to rape her. This is similar to Islamic teaching which says that women must be covered up for their own good since otherwise men would be unable to control themselves around them and would presumably raped. Such thinking insults both men and women. It reduces men to nothing more than lower animals who are incapable of controlling their impulses, and it treats women as helpless children who require the continual protection of the state.
The cops also say that only 10% of rape cases are legitimate. The rest are consensual. I really doubt if that is true. Rape is so little reported in that country, and the stigma is so great to reporting a rape, that one would assume that most if not the vast majority of rape allegations are true. In India, a woman probably would not even bother to make a false rape charge against a man.
One of the most painful things about the MRA movement is that it is full of young Indian men. They scream that their country has been taken over by feminists (!?) and demand to go back to the old order. What they really want, obviously, is a permanent instantiation of all the abuses against women detailed above. It was about that time that I threw in the towel with regard to the MRA movement. They’re just as nuts as the lunatic feminists.
