- We have a new impetus and proposals of the UAE Minister of Economy Al-Mansouri - the entry of Emirate capital to Poland into large development projects, Polish ports, infrastructure, but what I'm particularly happy about is also entering Polish processing (food). This is especially beneficial for both parties. It would allow to remove this surplus of Polish food, stabilize the dairy or poultry environment - stressed Piechociński .
He added that contacts with Arab and Islamic countries are important because the European market is slowly saturating. - We also have declarations (UAE) to enter the processing of apples and also open to other fruits - said Deputy Prime Minister.
- We open the door wherever we can, we are looking for reputable partners. This is an extremely serious partner, extremely beneficial, extremely consistent. (...) We want to expand the number of enterprises that cooperate with the UAE, introduce small and medium-sized enterprises and introduce new industries - Polish hand-made glass, Polish building materials - the minister said.
Piechociński added that he also sees the space for cooperation with the UAE in renewable energy sources.
- This is a country that places great emphasis on increasing energy efficiency. Let us remember that this is a country with which oil and gas purchases are not being carried out at the moment - he noted.
- When we look at the structure of trade, there are still huge opportunities. This is a country that can buy Polish buses, can buy Polish trams or subway trains. This is not just a place for Newag or Pesa, but also for those who create infrastructure. Finally, this is a country for sale, trading in Polish parts, accessories and car components - said the deputy prime minister.
The UAE Al-Mansouri Minister of Economy told Polish journalists that Poland and the United Arab Emirates have built a strategic partnership in recent years.
- Trade, if you look at the numbers, is a significant increase - from $ 500 million in 2012 it jumped to $ 1.3 billion in 2014. One of the areas we should be serious about is exporting agricultural products from Poland to the UAE . UAE are a large importer of such products, and Poland has them. This is a great opportunity for cooperation - emphasized the minister.
Piechociński has been in the UAE since Tuesday. In Dubai and Abu Dhabi, he meets with UAE representatives to talk about deepening economic cooperation. Polish entrepreneurs are discussing potential investments with the Emirates business.
The United Arab Emirates are Poland's main partner in the Gulf region. In 2014, trade between countries increased by 50%. compared to 2013 - from USD 865.4 million to USD 1 billion 290.4 million. Polish exports to this country are much higher than imports - last year it amounted to USD 1 billion 127.8 million.
