Well....I'm falling in love with running! Until yesterday I'd never run longer than an much over an hour and throughout my youth only ran to play rugby, football etc - I avoided long distance running at all costs, I was a a fairly handy sprinter on the track and a winger on the rugby pitch.
I went on a run yesterday and had a bit of a Forrest Gump moment; I thought I might as well keep running, what's the point in turning for home if I feel fine - I ran 12.1 miles in 1 hour 45 minutes and felt great, if not slightly annoyed I didn't hit the whole half marathon. This is all in an attempt to train for the Great North Run in 2 weeks, but perhaps I'll take running a bit more seriously and aim for a marathon in the next few months. It's not just great for fitness but it's fun, challenging and it clears the mind as you think over everything from minor details to 'major' problems - I felt like I could just keep running!
I think I've caught the running bug....oops
