My late husband suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease and reached the stage when I was no longer sure whether he truly recognized his grandchildren or not because he always had a ready smile on his face.
During one of their visits to our home, he kissed one of them and looking directly into her eyes, said: “I don’t remember your name, but what I do know is that I love you.”
The expression on his face when he said that, is one I will not forget in a hurry.
