Happy Hump Day!
I hope your week is going smoothly so far! My Wednesday started off on the right foot with a rocking 6 AM Barre class at the studio. We had a packed house and the ladies really brought their A Game this morning! So much wonderful energy in class.
Because every hump day should be a good day, I wanted to start you off with the cutest picture I've seen in a while! I stumbled across this picture yesterday on facebook so I'm not sure exactly where it came from, but it's precious. I hope Champ and Annabelle are best friends like these guys!
After class this morning, my legs were shaking like crazy so I decided to take some of the moves we did in class and put it into a lower body Booty Burner for you guys! Simply perform 12 reps of each exercise and repeat the entire circuit 4x's for one booty burning good time.
Additions and Modifications:
If you want to take the plie squat to releve up a notch, turn it into a plie jump squat. Begin in a plie position then jump up and click your heels together in mid air. Land back in your plie squat.
If holding a plank during leg lifts is a little too much right now, you can perform the leg lifts from an all fours position. Simply begin with your hands under shoulders and knees under hips (like you are going to crawl), and extend one leg straight back behind you. Lift leg to hip height and then lower back to the floor (keeping it straight) 12x's and repeat on the other side. Make sure you tighten your core so you don't over arch your lower back.
For my fellow soon to be mommies, I would stick with the plie to releve. If the single leg bridge lifts bothers your hips, leave both feet on the floor and simply lift your hips up and down. Once you are futher into your second and third trimester, it will probably be more comfortable to do the single leg lifts from all fours instead of plank since we have extra weight pulling on our lower back.
Now, it's breakfast time. Oats with flaxseeds, chia, blueberries, cinnamon, and a little peanut butter is on the menu for this morning! MMMM MMMM Good!
I hope you have a great day! Don't forget to make time to get sweaty.
In health,
