Just in case you haven't run into this link-up before Brooke from Silver Lining sends all of the participants a picture of inspiration and we each use it to recreate the outfit in our own way with items we already own. I love this link-up because it forces me to look at and pair my clothes differently. My husband loves this link-up because I find myself less inclined to go and buy more clothing. Win!
The image this month comes from Because Shanna Said So. When I saw this outfit I was very excited! I am all about layering it up in the winter! I also love me some animal print and am always reaching for my scarves.
When I went to recreate my version of the outfit I decided to mainly focus on layers and the general color scheme. I wish I had some really cool animal print boots, but in reality I would probably never wear them, so I settled for a pair of plain, brown boots a friend gifted me ages ago. I dug out a long black top that I bought for my smooshy postpartum body right after little e was born and paired it with a cardigan I have had for ages from Charlotte Russe. Are they even still around? Finally, I threw on some dark skinny jeans and my Burberry inspired scarf which was obtained on the streets of New York City forever ago.
When I went to take some pictures I discovered that my phone, which sadly takes better quality pictures than my actual camera doesn't have a timer! What the what?! I elected to stack up some books, prop up my phone, and make a little video before the sun went down at the late hour of noon. Kidding, it actually went down at 4, which feels just as awful.
