1. Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia)

    This is a vegetable and also known as bitter gourd. Karela is a very good home remedy for the treatment of diabetes. It has three anti-diabetic active substances, which helps to overcome the blood glucose level in our body. It contains charantin which helps to reduce the sugar level. Bitter gourd also contains lectin, which acts on peripheral tissues and suppresses the appetite. The vicine and polypeptide which has a property similar to, help to reduce the blood sugar level. The lots of studies on bitter melon shows that it has very high antioxidant content, which is active against most the tumor cells.

  • Take 2-3 bitter gourd and remove the seeds of bitter gourd. After removing the seeds cut them into small pieces and then blend them with 2 cups of water to make the juice of bitter gourd.
  • Drink this juice about 1/4 or 1/2 cup daily
  • You can also eat them as a vegetable by cooking them.

2.Tomatoes

    Tomatoes are the very good source of lycopene, which reduces the risk of cancer and heart dysfunctioning and also lower the bad cholesterol LDL and increase good cholesterol HDL level in the body. It has a very low glycemic index so it is good for diabetic patients and reduces your blood glucose level. Tomatoes also contain vitamin C, Vitamin A, and a high content of potassium in it. A one small sized ripe tomato contains about 16 calories, 3.5g carbohydrates, 215mg potassium, 1.1 g fibers, and .8g proteins. The total amount of carbohydrates in the tomatoes affects the glucose level in the diabetic patient.

How To Make

  • You can take 2-3 ripe potatoes and boil them for 5-10 minutes.
  • Peel them, crushed and strain the tomato juice.
  • Take a pan to add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil, cumin, salt and turmeric.
  • Add tomato juice and cook it for 1-2 minutes.
  • You must have this one time a day.

3. Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum)

    This plant has very high diuretic properties for the treatment of various diseases. This plant is abundantly available in the region of North Africa and South Asia. The leaves and seeds of fenugreek both have diuretic properties, which reduce the blood glucose level in the body. The seeds of fenugreek are very good for a diabetic patient. Fenugreek contains phytochemical components and essential nutrients such as chlorine trigonelline, yamogenin, potassium, copper, calcium, manganese, iron, zinc, and magnesium. It is very high in soluble fibers which helps to slow down the digestion. You should add at least 15 gram of fenugreek seed powder in your diet. It will help you to reduce to type 2 diabetes.

  • Soak 2-3 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds overnight.
  • Drink this water next morning before your meal.
  • You can also eat the soaked seeds, these are more effective in diabetes.

4.Guava:

    It is a very good fruit for the diabetic patient because it is rich in vitamin-B, vitamin C and potassium which control the high blood pressure in the diabetic patient. Guava is also rich in dietary fiber which helps to cure constipation in a diabetic patient. It reduces the amount of sugar absorption in your body. It also has a very low glycemic index. Guava has a high concentration of lycopene which is an antioxidant and protects your body from oxidative damage. Along with guava fruits, the leaves of guava are also very effective to treat diabetes. The leaves of guava contain Quercetin, a flavonoid with the hypoglycemic effect that lower the blood sugar level.

  • Eat 2-3 guava daily for few months continuously.
  • You can also crush the leaves of guava with one cup of water, strain, and drink it. For better taste add some raw honey to it.

Black Jamun:

    Many studies show that it improves the blood sugar level in the human body. The seeds of Jamun contain Jamboline, which inhibits the conversion of starch into sugar. Jamun acts as an antioxidant which helps to improve the immunity. It also contains vitamin C, B, carotene, folate, phytochemicals, magnesium, potassium, and fiber.

  • Eat a handful of Jamun daily.
  • You can also eat Jamun powder in the morning on an empty stomach and drink one glass of water with it.
