How to Make Cutoff Shorts

I have pinned on Pinterest so many DIYs. It's not even funny. However, I find myself hard pressed to actually do any of them. But when I found myself weeding out old jeans a few weeks ago, I knew that cutoffs were something that I needed to make. I had made a pair a few years ago, but they seem to not have mad the move to my current place (which I have been living in for 3 years now... so that's pretty sad), and I needed to remedy that. Thankfully, with an old pair of jeans, a measuring tape, and a good pair of scissors, cutoff shorts are easy to make!

Here's how:

How to Make Cutoff Shorts Supplies you'll need: - jeans (duh!) - a good pair of scissors - measuring tape - marker or chalk How to Make Cutoff Shorts Measure the inseam of the shorts so they are the length you want. For my two pairs, I measured 3 inches for the shorter pair and 16 for the longer! Mark a line on the pants. Make sure it's straight, and I recommend angling it up as you go from inseam to outer edge. Make sure they're even (trim if you need). How to Make Cutoff Shorts Once you have your jeans cut, distress them if you'd like! I used a box cutter, and put a magazine in the leg so I didn't cut through both sides. Throw them in the wash and wear! How to Make Cutoff Shorts
Tips:
- Start with jeans that are looser. They make better cutoffs and won't cut into your legs if you decide to cuff
- Thighs too tight? Cut along the outer seam and add a triangle of fun fabric (if you're handy with sewing).
- Try bleach or paint for fun designs/colors!
