Hooray for Hollywood! Hollywood Regency That Is!!

I found myself once again perusing Ebay for Hollywood Regency finds... there are pages and pages of fun things!  Once an a while I find that piece that  I have to have, even if it remains in storage until the right room or client comes along.  You may ask what exactly is Hollywood Regency, well it is hard to define but from research I will give it my best shot... taking a quote from the NY Times: "A heady mix of 19th century French, Greek Revival and modernist.. that for shadowed aspects of post modernism!" In a nutshell.. a mix of anything GLAMOROUS!! The true Regency king and queen were Billy Haines and Dorothy Draper, who's styles mixed gilding with black lacquer.. simplistic lines and bold accessories.. I have included some examples. Todays designers love to mix this style for that wow factor, and  the three designers that seem to do it very well are as follows: Kelly Wearstler, Jackie Astier, and of course Jonathan Adler!
