Honey Baking Soda Facial Mask

By Invisiblestilettos
I can't believe it is March already.  February did go by so fast and now it is officially summer here in the Philippines.  It's my favorite time of the year!  I'm excited to go to beaches and have lots of fun.  But before all that, we should not forget to prepare our skin for those harmful sun rays, and you know me, i love using all-natural, kitchen products for my beauty recipes.  I would love to share another favorite facial mask that will both make your skin glow and prevent your skin from having acne.Honey Baking Soda Facial Mask
Now, go to your pantry and grab the following:
1.  Honey
2.  Baking soda
3.  Calamansi (You can use lemons or skip this part if you have uber sensitive skin.)Honey Baking Soda Facial Mask
Let's go ahead and get started!   First, place a tablespoon or so baking soda in a clean mixing bowl.  Cut your calamansi or lemon in half and squeeze out the juice.  Make sure to remove those seeds!  Don't panic if you see the mixture fizzing and bubbling.  It's a common reaction when you mix alkaline (baking soda) and acid (calamansi).  Do not add the calamansi if you plan on hitting the beach after!  It has bleaching properties which will make your skin extra sensitive to the sun and even darker. If you choose to add calamansi, make sure to wear lots of sunscreen :)Honey Baking Soda Facial Mask
Next, add in the honey.  Honey has antibacterial properties which prevent formation of pimples plus it also is a great moisturizer.  Honey not only attracts water but also helps retain and absorb it on our skin which makes our skin more hydrated.Honey Baking Soda Facial Mask
Stir the three ingredients until well blended.  Your mixture is now ready to be applied.Honey Baking Soda Facial Mask
Prep your skin by washing it with your favorite face wash, pat dry, the apply the mixture to your face.  Be sure to avoid the eye area.  Let it sit on your skin for 10 to 15 minutes then wash with lukewarm water.Honey Baking Soda Facial MaskThose micro-beads from the baking soda did do their job.  Dead skin cells begone.  You know have smooth, glowing skin :)
Enjoy!
Happy summer everyone!
