Lovely colourful interior.
They have a lovely bright, airy space with lots of modern furniture nicely juxtaposed by their traditional pizza oven. The menu is simple enough, a couple of light bites all under €6 followed by salads and pizzas. None of the seven pizzas cost more than €14. There's a decent wine list too.
Selection of bites,
Of the bites the best we tried were the Baked House Crostini. Little pieces of baguette smeared with the most delicious salsa verde I have ever tasted before being topped with fresh tomato. The artichoke hearts surprised me, I'm not normally a fan but rolling them in prosciutto and topping them with Parmesan cheese really works! While we enjoyed the olives we thought the portion size didn't really match the cost (€4).
Portobello and truffle pizza
The pizza was why we were here though and it didn't disappointed. I was nearly wetting myself in anticipation of trying the Portabello and Truffle. I could describe it as a white pizza but it's so much more! Deep, rich, earthy flavours create a pizza that's both decadent and wholesome. It absolutely must be tried.
Napoli salami pizza
Himself went for the more conventional Napoli Salami pizza which turned out to be an equally good choice. The tomato sauce was lovely and rich while the salami had a nasal clearing spicy kick to it.
Chocolate mousse with pistachio ice cream
I find it hard to say no to pistachio ice cream so we ended the meal by sharing a scoop on top of a luscious chocolate mousse and accompanied by two limoncello's. Honest Pizza is a great addition to the Dublin pizza scene particularly if you don't like your pizza with a side order of hipster! Or even if you do... go on, check it out!
Rounding off the meal, two tasty limoncello.
