Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce

Just – 4 ingredients salted no hassle salted caramel! It’s syrupy, sticky, creamy, sweet salted sugary awesomeness. Drizzle this liquid gold on your desserts and your life will be sorted!

It’s really easy to make salted caramel at home and it is ready in about 10 minutes. However, you’ll want to cool down completely before using it in a recipe. The caramel will thicken as it cools.

Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce

You may use this homemade salted caramel on top of desserts – ice creams (recipe here), cinnamon rolls (recipe here), cheesecakes, apple pie bars, or on loafs, breads, use it in cakes etc. Drizzle it over fruits and they will be gone in seconds.  You may also put it into jars, decorate them and give it as a gift, or simply eat it with a spoon. The potentials of using this liquid gold are endless!

This sauce can be refrigerated stored for up to 2 weeks (just make sure it is covered tightly. Warm the caramel sauce for a few seconds before using in a recipe. Check this amazing sauce out:

Ingredients:

1 cup granulated sugar

6 tbsp. butter (room temperature)

½ cup whipping cream

1 tsp. salt

Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce

Method:

In a medium saucepan heat granulated sugar over medium-low heat. Stir it continuously with a wooden spoon. After 7- 8 minutes, the sugar will melt into a thick brown, amber-coloured liquid as you keep stirring (at this point be careful not to burn the sugar)

As soon as the sugar is completely melted, add the butter. (the mixture at this point will bubble hastily – be careful). Stir the butter until it is completely melted (won’t take more than 1 – 2 minutes)

Now, turn the heat to low and add the cream while stirring. You have to be cautious as the mixture will hastily bubble again and it may even splash out a little.

After it boils for a minute turn the heat off. Take the pan off the gas top and add salt to it. Stir properly and let it cool. Serve with desserts and enjoy.
