Ciao everyone,

I’m back again!  I will finish all 10000000000000 posts I’ve been meaning to do as soon as possible…though it will take time.  I have quite a giant list.  Anyway, since it’s the middle of summer and super hot outside (depending on where you live), what’s a fun treat to make!?  Popsicles of course!  Homemade ones!  They’re pretty easy and require no baking like most treats I make.  Even in the summer, I’ll bake and then it makes the house hot…ha.  So, popsicles are a perfect way to keep cool and have a snack, with less effort and heat!  You can make healthy ones as well with pretty much an fruit, yogurt, or whatever you like.

You just need to find or create a recipe, get the ingredients, and get popsicle molds.  I made my first batch of popsicles last summer using just a few ingredients.  It’s super easy.  Here’s my recipe.  There are no measurements, just use as much as you need depending on how many popsicles your making.

Orange Lemon Dreamsicles Recipe

Sliced oranges (small pieces)
Lemon juice (Not too much, it’s strong)

Lemon Zest

Orange Juice

Plain Yogurt

sugar and water (in equal amounts, I used about 1/3 cup)

First, combine the orange slices, lemon zest, yogurt, lemon and orange  juice in a mixing bowl.  Mash the mixture a bit with the back of a wooden spoon or use a potato masher, then stir together.  Let this mixture sit for a few minutes.

Meanwhile, combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan and let it simmer until the sugar has dissolved.  Let it cool for about five minutes, then combine with the fruit mixture.

Pour the mixture into your popsicle molds.

Freeze it for about six hours. *If your popsicles stick to the molds, hold them under warm running water for a few seconds to loosen them.*

For my second try, I decided to find a chocolaty recipe.  I used this one: http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2013/07/banana-nutella-and-salted-pistachio-popsicles/ to make Banana Nutella, and Salted Pistachio Popsicles!  So yummy!!

Here’s another link I plan on using soon to try new popsicle varieties: http://www.buzzfeed.com/rachelysanders/super-cool-popsicles-to-make-this-summer.   Have fun trying any of these my recipe, or your own!  There so many possibilities!  Have fun!  I hope you guys enjoy my variety of posts lately!
