Homemade Hand Soap

By Invisiblestilettos
Good day lovelies! Today, I want to share with you another cheap tip that we use in our household.  It has save us loads of money.  Hand soaps are essential in every home, and we all know that hand soaps are not that cheap, especially the antibacterial ones, so I concocted up this recipe that we could use at home that does the same job as those expensive hand soaps.  One thing I also like about this recipe is you could customize this according to your preference.  You can add scents of your choice for that something extra special :)Homemade Hand Soap
Let's gather our ingredients, shall we?
1.  Water
2.  Cheap body wash
3.  Alcohol
4.  Empty container with pumpHomemade Hand Soap
First, get a clean container.  I just used an empty bottle of shampoo with a pump.  I removed the label and cleaned the bottle.  Choosing a container with a pump is a must.  Next, pour the body wash inside the container.  Fill the container to about one fourth of the bottle.  I found this cheap body wash at a health store for less than 200 pesos for 700 mL.Homemade Hand Soap Next, add in the alcohol.  I used 70% alcohol.  This would not only give you hand wash antibacterial properties but would also act as a "preservative" as this would make your hand soap last longer especially if you are only using tap water and not distilled water.  Just eyeball the amount, you do not have to put a lot.  Two capfuls are enough for this one-liter container.Homemade Hand Soap
Then all you have to do is fill the container with water.  I prefer distilled or bottled water but if that is not available, water from your faucet is fine :)  Do not over fill your container.  Leave a bit of space for us to be able to shake and mix all three liquids we put in there.Homemade Hand Soap
Now, put the pump on the container then shake vigorously for a few seconds until it is well combined.  You should see some foam after you shake it.Homemade Hand Soap
Your hand soap is now ready to use.  I like that it has a foamy consistency and lathers up your hands well.  You can also use old hand soap containers which have "foamers" attached to the pump.  You can also use unscented body wash then add your favorite essential oil to the mix.  The one I used already has a mild vanilla scent and moisturizers so I did not use essential oils.Homemade Hand Soap
I love the fact that I could use that body wash for four batches of homemade hand soap for just a price of one bottle of store-bought hand soap. :)Homemade Hand Soap
Hope you enjoyed today's tip :)
Have a great day!
