Yes, you heard it right. Its way too easy. And healthy. With minimal ingredients the result is – smooth and fresh non-artificial flavored yogurt AT HOME.  

Homemade Flavored Yogurt (with 3 ingredients only)

Wondering how to make flavored yogurt at home? All you need is fruit and Greek yogurt, and you are good to go. Greek yogurt is nothing but regular yogurt which is strained to remove the excess water called whey. What you are left with is thicker, protein rich Greek yogurt. Although the fruits provide enough sweetness to the yogurt, you may add sugar as per your taste.

Things to remember/Tips:

  • If you are making yogurt at home, it is recommended that you use whole milk, it gives richer taste
  • Go crazy with fruits – banana, mango, berries, orange. You can add fruit jams too.
  • Try mixed fruits. Add nuts to your yogurt for some crunch
  • Do not throw away the whey. It has a very high nutritional value and is high in protein. It has numerous health benefits. can be used for multiple purposes including –

    • Add it to juices, smoothies, soups or gravies

Homemade Flavored Yogurt (with 3 ingredients only)

Ingredients

For Greek yogurt

5 cups yogurt

For strawberry flavored yogurt

1 cup Greek yogurt + 6-8 strawberries + 2 tsp. honey

For chocolate flavored yogurt

1 cup Greek yogurt + 1 tbsp. cocoa powder + ½ banana

Sugar (optional, as per taste)

Fruits/chocolate for garnish (optional)

Method

Greek Yogurt – Place a bowl and hang the yogurt over it in a muslin cloth or cheesecloth overnight or approximately for 8 hours. Do not throw away the whey that is collected in the bowl, for its uses, please see tips above. Scoop Greek yogurt from cloth. Greek yogurt is ready. 5 cups of yogurt will approximately make 2 cups Greek yogurt.

Strawberry Flavored Yogurt – Blend 1 cup Greek yogurt + strawberries + honey in a blender. Garnish with strawberries.

Chocolate Flavored Yogurt – Blend 1 cup Greek yogurt + cocoa powder + banana in a blender. Garnish with chocolate and banana.

Add sugar if you would like your yogurt to be on the sweeter side. Enjoy your easy homemade flavored yogurt!
