Baileys.
I said Baileys Irish Cream and Homemade in the same breath.www.liquor.comBaileys Irish Cream is an Irish whiskey and cream based liqueur, made by Gilbeys of Ireland. The trademark is currently owned by Diageo. It has a declared alcohol content of 17% alcohol by volume.
Lets face it. There's not many who havent fallen for the taste and after taste of Baileys Irish Cream. Unfortunately, Duty Free allows for only two bottles and with duty, Baileys is not something most of us will pick everyday. Yes, it is extremely expensive. After all we do need to eat and feed the car with petrol.
So we make it at home and go ersatz.
And we occasionally buy the Real McCoy.
You can too.
All it needs is something straight out of your pantry and an overnight rest in the fridge.Something happy for an after dinner shot in this festive times.Oh, Merry Christmas to you and your family.
for the
Homemade Baileys Irish Cream Liquor
You need
1 cup Irish Whiskey- We use Scotch
200 mils Cream -we used Amul 25% fat
1/2 cup Coffee Decoction- we used 4 espresso shots
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp Chocolate sauce -we used Frey Milk Chocolate/use dark chocolate or Hershey chocolate syrup
200 mils condensed milk -almost 1/2 of the 14oz tin
1 glass bottle
Place the chocolate in the hot espresso and allow it to melt. Cool.
Pour the liquids into the glass bottle one at a time. An Irish whiskey is not what hubby dear will dilute like so. So we use any scotch. An IMFL ,will do as well.
Add the coffee and chocolate mix.
Now cap and screw the bottle top and shake with all you got.
Alternatively, you can run this mix through a blender too.
Now taste.
Serve after dinner over ice. Or as an alternative to coffee ,with whipped cream, or just take a swig...whenever.
Add more coffee ,if you think you need it.
You basically need to be happy with the condensed milk.
It shouldn't be too sweet.
If it is too sweet ,you'll drink more and then you'll need me to share my cure for a hangover too.
Some things are best kept secret.
And some things like homemade Baileys are best shared.
I hope you are above 25 years old...
So what are you drinking today???
Better pictures after the chilling time. It tastes awesome freshly made and warm too.Happy and fuzzy.
Merry Christmas to you and yours...
