how to pack for a beach holiday

Anyone else started the countdown to their summer holiday? We’ll be flying off in exactly T minus 65 days – a woo hoo! We can’t wait for a spot of sun, sand and a sneaky cocktail or two, but before we get to enjoy all that, there’s one thing standing in our way… dreaded summer holiday packing. Argh!

If you’re anything like us, you’ll turn up to your hotel with some sequin hotpants and five pairs of shoes but no pants or toothbrush. We always forget something and our ‘throw it all in and hope for the best’ method very rarely works. So this summer we’ve vowed to be more organised and have put together a guide to our suitcase essentials – the pieces that’ll ensure you look suitably stylish throughout your hols. Take a look!

Soul Cal Deluxe Flat Bandeau Bikini, Miso Dipped Hem Maxi, Miso Bling Toepost Sandals, Soul Cal Deluxe Stripe Tote Bag, Soul Cal Deluxe Straw Trilby

For the ladies, a pretty maxi dress is a must-have – this dipped hem style will take you from beach to bar in a flash. Love that print! Flat sandals are essential for exploring, but no one said they had to be boring! This bejewelled pair can be dressed down at night or glammed up for the evening.

A simple straw hat will keep the sun off your head – no one wants sunstroke – and a roomy cotton tote is perfect for your sunbathing necessities. Finally, no beach holiday would be complete without an amazing bikini – this flag-print set is right on trend and the bandeau top means no tan lines!

Guys, we know you don’t need as much ‘stuff’ as the girls, but there are some things no holiday would be complete without. A few pairs of chino shorts will see you through seven days in the sun – wear them with polo tees during the day and smart shirts on a night.

A peaked cap means you don’t have to do your hair in the morning – bonus – and aviator sunnies will hide partied-out eyes. One last thing – the humble flip flop. Not particularly stylish but essential for wading in the sea and walking along the beach. Sorted!

What’s in your holiday suitcase?
