Flanked with the Tibetan plateaus to its east, Jammu and Kashmir to its north and the Punjab to its west is the beautiful and plush state of Himachal Pradesh. There are many things that this beautiful and wondrous state in the north of India is famous for but most of all it is famous for its many reputed schools and also its greenery and natural beauty. Perched in one of the coolest regions of the country with a population of over 680000, Himachal Pradesh, in the last few years, has become one of the most important tourist destinations in India, and specifically northern India. There are many lush green forests, snow capped mountains, rivulets and streams, and orchards that grow a wide range of fruits in this land that is also, popular referred to as the lap of the Himalayas. Himachal Pradesh has one of the most interesting colonial histories in the country and also their culture and architecture has many Mauryan influences and also influences from the age of the Guptas in the history of the country. There were many kings and princes that ruled the land before it became a politically separate state. Like most of the important and popular tourist places in the world, it is important to keep in mind the best time to visit a particular destination. And one of the things one must keep in mind is the climate of the destination. The climate in Himachal is determined mostly by the mountain ranges surrounding the region. The fact that it is 7000 meters above sea level makes it one of the coolest regions in the country. So there are times of the year where the temperatures of the state could go really high and then there are times of the year when the temperatures could go really low. However, during the months when there are plenty of rains and plenty of snow, the rivers of the state are fed with water in plenty. There are also regions in the state where there is very little rainfall or no rainfall some years and one of them is the Spiti and Lahaul area. On the other hand, there are regions such as the Dharamsala where there is plenty of rainfall through the year. Himachal Weather There are primarily three main seasons that Himachal weather experiences. They are the summer months which are warm, the winter months that are cold and the rainy season. The climate in Himachal Pradesh could be anywhere between 28 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius during the summers. During the winter months, however the weather in Himachal Pradesh could be anywhere between 14 degrees Celsius to 21 degrees Celsius. The weather in Himachal is, therefore one of the most prominent aspects of this wonderful tourist destination in India.
