They say it’s always darkest before the dawn, and for the past few weeks, I’ve been waiting for the sun to rise. Both figuratively and literally.
Early last Sunday morning, I decided it was time to make my own sunshine. So, with the sky still as black as coal, I jumped into the car armed with a couple of cameras and headed south.
It was my mission to find the best place to watch the sunrise on the Gold Coast and when I turned up at the Spit and as I walked towards the Southport jetty, the sun was just breaking the horizon.
As I sat on the sand, I let the warmth wash over me and it seemed as though things were not quite so bad.
Finally, here comes the sun.
