Abstract
SAVI that is Sting Associated vasculopathy can be defined as a disorder that causes abnormal inflammation to the entire body especially to the skin, lungs and the blood vessels. This is among the Autoinflammatory diseases. This disorder can also be categorised among the rarely found diseases. It is a hereditary condition found in neonates, this happens mainly due to mutations in the STING1 gene. It is a serious condition that can lead to a lot of systemic disorders. In Ayurveda SAVI is considered to be a Sahaja Roga that means a hereditary condition, this is due to Bija Dosha that is abnormality in the sperm, ova, chromosomes or the genes. This condition is among the rarely found diseases.
Introduction
SAVI or Sting Associated Vasculopathy can be defined as a condition that causes inflammation throughout the body that affects especially the skin, blood vessels and lungs. This change in the body takes place due to mutation in genes that results in over production of inflammatory protein that harms the tissues and also causes inflammation. These genes start producing cytokines that mainly cause this inflammation. This disorder in infants occurs as lesions on the face especially to the nose and ears that can turn into ulcers and lately damages the tissue. This disorder has a higher risk to get into an infant if he or she has a positive family history. Involvement of lungs may be a cause of death in SAVI.
Causes
SAVI is caused mainly due to mutation of genes in STING1 (it physiologically makes a protein called STING) that dysfunctions and over produces. SAVI can be caused either due to a positive family history or may be due to abnormality in the cytoplasm of the tissues.
Signs And Symptoms Of Savi
- Lesions on skin like on fingers, cheeks, toes and soles
- Rashes and blisters on skin
- Stiffness of the joints
- Ulcerations can be found on the skin
- Difficulty in breathing, coughing or other interstitial lung disease (as lungs are affected)
- Nausea and vomiting
- Pain in abdomen
- Swelling and inflammation in hands and feet
- Weakness and fatigue
- Low grade Fever
- Diarrhoea
- Rigidity of joints
- Enlarged lymph nodes
- Dyspnea
- Patients may experience signs of Raynaud's Phenomenon too

Ayurvedic Aspect Of Sting Associated Vasculopathy Infancy Dependent (Savi)
Ayurveda considers this disorder Sting Associated vasculopathy Infancy Dependent is due to Bija dushti which means abnormality in the ovum or sperm or both. Acharya Charaka says that this abnormality may be due to defects in the chromosome or the genes.
Acharya charaka in (च. शा. ३/१७) says that when vitiation of any dosha causes abnormality to the Beeja bhag (that is the ova or the sperm) it can not work as it would have. And this is what causes the Sahaja Roga or Kulaj Rogas (hereditary disorders). So as the Beeja that is the seed of a new life is formed under abnormal conditions the offspring suffers from several disorders due to imbalance doshas that causes symptoms like stiffness of the joints, lesions or rashes on skin, dyspnea, growth retardation etc.
Treatment

1. Boswellia Curcumin

2. Arvindasav
