Her Only Human Heart ...

Christina Perri rose to massive fame with her single, A Thousand Years, when it was featured on the Twilight soundtrack. What teenage girl wouldn't want to listen to a slow, deep, love-song when her favorite vampire and equally as dreadful actress fiancé are to be finally wed...? Anyway, the follow-up comes in the form of Christina's new single, Human, and despite its obvious change in lyrics, this is a relatively relatable and sweet little track.
Her Only Human Heart ...Whilst this one is already available in the US, you'll be waiting until early March to be able to download it here ... which may come as a bit of a slap in the face to some, though, for many, it'll be worth the wait. There isn't too much difference in the arrangement of the song, and we believe that to be something relatively obvious. It still uses the same assortment of strings, and the pace is well and truly the same as before, though, the way in which Christina sings, and what she is singing about, are really what flip this track on its head.
Previously, she had sung about love and life with someone for the rest of her days, though, in this much more melancholic track, she goes on to sing about how, as the title would suggest, she is only human and can only, therefore, take so much - the irony that her biggest hit previously is about no more than a werewolf, a vampire, and a woman who transforms into a vampire seems relatively fitting.
That seems to be the point though, she is managing to steer away from her Twilight fame, and manage on her own two feet with something that millions of people will surely be able to empathise with. She manages to sing in a way that you'll believe everything she says and, in turn, want to give this much more of a shot.
We're not about to suggest this is every bit of our cup of tea, but, we can really appreciate the work she has put into her career and applaud her efforts, which we reckon, will really pay off.
Paul.
