Warm pumpkin
Little ball of seeds.
Ah, I loooove Autumn! Even the word Autumn is pretty. It paints my mind with warm earth tones and vibrant reds, oranges and yellows. One of my favorite things of all happens in Autumn! There are PUMPKINS everywhere! Pumpkin Lattes, pumpkin roll, pumpkin cake, roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin milkshakes, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, and well… there’s pumpkin everywhere we look! It’s a pumpkin frenzy really with the way everyone is marketing this big, beautiful ball of orange goodness. Every other business has a sign offering their latest pumpkin treat!
There is just something about pumpkin and the spices of fall that make me want to wrap myself in a light blanket and huddle up next to a crackling, outdoor fire. Or… take a walk through the park listening to the sounds of critters getting ready for winter. It’s cozy and homey; it’s comforting. It makes me feel like decorating with pine cones and planting mums. Today I welcome Autumn while gingerly holding a hot pumpkin latte. With each little sip, I will allow myself some time to reflect upon the year that is about to pass. Pumpkins are a sign I guess, that it’s time to clean house. It’s time to put summer away and slip into a quieter season.Pumpkin is a feel good food to be sure! It’s also very healthy (okay maybe not so much in lattes and such) as it is packed with fiber, Vitamin A, antioxidants, Vitamins C, K, and E, and is full of minerals like magnesium, potassium, and iron.
