Haze Has It All ...

Posted on the 18 January 2014 by Tlb Music Blog @TLB_Blog
A female rapper that has real conviction, and honest lyricism, is seemingly becoming harder and harder to come by. The last thing we were given was Nicki Minaj and, whilst many still love her, you can't really ever place the word "real" next to any of her work. In recent times, Angel Haze has more than impressed with her beautiful, but powerful honesty, and with a new piece that features the stunning Sia, it seems that the beginning of an absolutely incredible career is about to blossom.
Haze Has It All ...It opens, like many songs featuring her, with Sia's chorus. If we're honest, it reminds us very much of Paloma Faith, or like something Dido could have come up with on a new Eminem rap ... nonetheless, it most definitely works on this track, and the moment that Angel Haze comes in, you know the game is on.
Angel, like always, has a sincerity to her voice, and you really prick your ears so that you can hear each and every single word she speaks. It's fascinating really, that she can compose herself to speak of her deepest emotions, in a way that conveys not much more than sheer angst ... but in such a way that could create a brilliantly emotive single.
Very recently, the world has been talking about the latest offering from Shakira and Rihanna, but we don't believe their new collaboration to be anywhere near as stunning as this one. This one, which does not dedicate its time to any of the bravado, and all of its time to the experiences, lives, and souls of those who made it.
Paul.
