Have a Great Cup of Jo for $1
I'm sure you'll agree. I have a rather unusual and uncommon first name. Serda. What does it mean? (Nothing specific). Where did it come from? (Who knows!) Who else has it? (I know of one other girl with the first name Serda and she lives in L.A.) These are the types of questions that I've tried to answer ever since I was a little girl. I'd romanticize about the other Serda's around the world... like the French singer Romane Serda or the owners of the Spanish winery, Marti Serda, or the Thai instant noodle empire, Serda, to name a few. Of course, always feeling a certain level of kinship, a connection. And then the universe brought me this - Serda's Coffee. A coffee shop in Mobile, Alabama. Wow. Kindred spirits. This place is on my bucket list.

If you know me, you probably know that I love my coffee. For a coffee shop to be after my name is quite karmic. Because, like I said, I love my coffee. I call myself an equal opportunity coffee drinker - as long as the coffee is delicious and the price is right - I'll take it. Of course, it is hard to find a good cup of coffee for under $2 these days! Until now that is. The other day, I noticed a new special at Mac's convenience stores. Seattle's Best Coffee for $1... any size, through winter. What a way to warm my heart! It may not be Serda's coffee but Seattle's Best Coffee is owned by Starbucks which means you're getting a premium cup of Jo for only a buck.

You want even better news? If you don't feel like coffee, you get also get a Tazo tea, hot chocolate and cappuccino for only $1 as well! I love the Green Ginger Tazo tea. It is so delicious. Anyway, I don't want to bore you to tears with my love of tea's and coffee's but I just had to share this great deal. Best of all, every time I enter my local Mac's store, I remember high school when my friend L. and I would sneak out at lunch to buy pop/candy/various unhealthy things. Ahh the 1990's... L. and I, in my 1996 Honda Civic, cruising to Oasis and this song.

If you're into coffee, then stay tuned for next week when I will be giving away a Seattle's Best Coffee Gift Basket to one lucky winner. I'll also be doing a little (fun) experiment with hungry husband who needs coffee more than we need oxygen .... Kind of a blind-coffee-test.
Enjoy your cup of warmth! You'll need it when the snow storm hits.
