When I read the first few lines of Mary's blog earlier this week, my very first thought was "me too"!
I started the month full of lists, plans & good intentions and yet January is almost over & very little perceptible progress appears to have been made.
I'm feeling under the weather....& talking of weather, I usually like winter but I am so ready for the rain & endless gray skies to go.We have had a.lot.of.rain.Weather that's had me browsing the flight schedules more than once.Enough already.
I spend a lot of time looking at kitchens & lofts for inspiration on Pinterest.I had hoped work on our loft would have begun by now but we are still at the drawing & design stage, hmmmm. This is just the beginning. Patience is going be required....clearly.
I escaped to the cinema twice this week....I saw "American Hustle" & "12 Years A Slave", both were very enjoyable.
Conversations with my 12-almost-13 year old daughter are quite something these days....interesting....challenging....impossible....bewilderinglots of changes going on.the word "no" is uttered quite a lot, by both of us ;)
The other day I even phoned my mother to ask her if I had been like this....she said no, of course!I was a very easy child & teenager but I think the world is most definitely a different place these days, it's a challenge growing up in a world where you are besieged by social media continually, amongst other things. And, quite frankly, as a parent whose child is out there in this world, it feels terrifying at times. It's going to be an interesting journey, that's for sure.
My week-end plans are simple....stew. walk. read. cake.
Have a lovely week-end!
