The British have a reputation for being able to talk at length about the weather & it would seem recently that we've been justified in doing so....whilst London hasn't been affected in the same way as other parts of the country where flooding due to the endless rain has many absolutely disastrous for many, we have certainly had many many dark & wet days here in the capital city.
Today wasn't one of those rainy days, it was one of those gloriously sunny days which feels like a gift....where the sky is so blue that after a few hours of it you can barely believe thata) it is real b) it is going to last & c) it ever really rained for as long as it did (in spite all the mud & puddles everywhere which reminds you that in fact, it did).
I went to see "The Lego Movie" this afternoon with my son & then we took the longest way home, walking through the woods, taking a route we'd never taken before...."an adventure" my 8 year old called it.
It was a beautiful day & it seemed as though everyone - man, child & his dog - was out luxuriating in every moment of that warm sunshine, it felt completely blissful & everyone did seem just a tiny bit happier.
I love living in a country that has seasons, I wouldn't have it any other way....as I explained to my son as we walked home, if we didn't have the cold wet days, then we truly would not appreciate the sunny ones....and all it takes it one sunny Saturday & in a second we forget the long cold winter days.
Happy Weekend.
