Happy Weekend.

Happy Weekend.
My head remains too full of thoughts.....my main focus right now seems to be my 13 yr old daughter & our house renovations, this week has been one step forward & one back for sure.
Yesterday I went to Somerset for a memorial service for my grandmother who passed away earlier this year. It was a sunny day & Somerset is a beautiful place to be.
I sat between my mother & my uncle who are twins.
My mom adores her brother, totally & completely & I love seeing them together. My uncle is a really nice man, he was an English teacher, he's a great writer & excellent company. He's like my mother & he isn't.....they've lived fairly different lives but I guess what I love most is that the ties that bind them are clear....and very strong. They've now lost their parents & their younger sister, so it's just the two of them....and I can see they really appreciate that. They have a deep understanding of each other which shows in every conversation that they have, they're of kindness & concern towards one another & they laugh a lot.
My wider family is full of falling-outs, rifts & a large amount of animosity....so it's wonderful (and just what I needed right now) to see these two people who are full of respect & love for each other.
We didn't see a great deal of him or his family growing up, not for years & years in fact, so, in some ways, I don't know them that well....although I've seen them more over the last few years & like them all very much.
It's been a wonderfully autumnal day in London....leaves falling off the trees, rain & only 12 degrees! October is truly here! I am making Jamie Oliver's pasta e cece (pasta with chickpeas) for dinner & getting ready to snuggle down for a rare evening of TV.
