Happiness Toolkit for Happiness All Year Round

By Brokebutbeautiful @never2broke4bea
With the New Year comes hope and optimism but when the holidays end life can sometimes have an annoying way of being, well, annoying.  Sometimes life throws things at you that you aren’t expecting and don’t really want to deal with so my my New Year’s resolution is to not be so hard on myself and not be as self critical. Unfortunately, you will always come across someone who will do this for you so why do it to yourself? Sometimes though it is impossible not to feel down so I’ve decided to put together a happiness tootlbox. You could gather items together and put them in a box that you go to when you’re feeling sad or you can just identify them so you know what to reach for when you need them.
The Never Too Broke For Beauty happiness tool kit includes:
Watching a filmNot just any film, lets face it Schindler’s List isn’t going to give you a lift, but a film that you find uplifting. This could be a comedy, a chick flick or a romance (with a happy ending!) In my case I watch musicals when I need cheering up, singing, dancing and technicolour are all good for your emotional health in my opinion! My musicals of choice include; The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Singin’ In The Rain and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

I'm singing and dancing in the rain...

Going to the gymNow I’m not a huge fan of exercise, in fact the thought alone makes me a little depressed but I do love dancing, especially Zumba. So either head to a Zumba class or stick on Just Dance and have a boogie!
Doing something productiveWhen I do something productive I feel like I’ve achieved something! Write a blog post, bake a cake or organize your wardrobe. I personally like to go for a walk, fresh air, exercise and scenary =happiness.

Going for a walk

Having a TV programme marathonI often feel my worst when I’m stressed and I love to de- stress by indulging in a bit of shallow TV. My current favourites are The Good Wife, Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries and of course there is my all time favourite, Dawson’s Creek. Pacey = happiness personified!
Paint My NailsTaking a bit of time out to focus on yourself isn’t a bad thing. Take time out to have a bath or give yourself a manicure.
Phone a friendI have wonderful family and friends and either visiting or calling them always gives me a lift!
This is my happiness toolkit, what would you include in yours?
