(GOOP.com)
(Programming note: I’m going to NYC for an extra-long long weekend, so no new blog until Tuesday)
-This week’s GOOP is all about Gwyneth Paltrow‘s preparations for the MET Gala. A make-nice for Anna Wintour, perhaps?
-Meanwhile, Chloe Sevigny is having none of it from Gwyneth. None. Of. It.
-Also, a Groupon for a meet-and-greet with Gwyneth sold out in just 24 minutes.
-Reese Witherspoon thought that having a drink in public so soon after her arrest wouldn’t be a big deal. That’s adorable!
-A guy got arrested for swimming to Taylor Swift‘s beachfront property. Just because it’s crazy, doesn’t mean it’s not impressive.
-Beyonce‘s latest concert outfit seemed designed to shoot down belly bump speculation.
-Hayden Panettiere is either engaged or just likes gaudy rings. (Sidenote: I watched Nashville for the third time in my life last night and spent a lot of time thinking, “Wait, Hayden Panettiere can actually act?!”)
-Speaking of wedding rings, here’s Keira Knightley’s.
-J.J. Abrams took suggestions for Star Wars from Jimmy Kimmel‘s audience — which happened to include William Shatner.
-I love that the new Vampire Weekend album contains so many arcane references that Vulture created a guide for it.
-Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz has changed his tune and now says that you do have to watch the new episodes in order after all.
-Will Arnett and Jason Bateman showed up at the NYC banana stand today. We’re just over a week away, people!
-Netflix’s “adultery” ad campaign is pretty clever — and true.
-Chris Evans’ arms scare me.
-Zoe Saldana said she doesn’t mind having her weight splashed across the cover of a magazine. Here’s the thing, though: I’d be very surprised if she even weighs that much ’cause that’s around what I weigh and I stood next to her in an elevator once and felt like the Hulk in comparison. So I just assumed the weight announcement was trying to squash some sort of eating disorder rumour, which apparently makes me the most cynical person in the world. Cynical and Hulk-like.
-Meanwhile, Zoe is reportedly dating an artist who’s nickname is Pirate Perago.
-Having Sarah Michelle Gellar talking about working with Robin Williams still doesn’t make me want to watch their new show.
-The CW was the last network to announce their fall lineup. It’s weird that they’re splitting up The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, but the biggest buzz is surrounding The Tomorrow People. Also, Reign stars Anne of Green Gables as the mom!
-Meanwhile, newly split couple Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder shared the stage at CW’s upfront presentation. Awkward!
-Kanye West’s performance at the Adult Swim upfronts turned into a rant (what else?) against the paparazzi (what else?).
-Is it weird that this Six Feet Ending-type goodbye to The Office made me laugh and cry at the same time? I blame that damn Sia song. So many feels!
-Meanwhile, here are some clips from tonight’s finale. I also liked this article called “5 Ways The Office Ruined My Life.”
-I’m really glad that the early reviews out of Cannes for Bling Ring are so positive (particularly surrounding Emma Watson‘s performance).
-Speaking of Emma, I liked her Cannes photo call dress much more than her premiere dress.
-Ewan McGregor has reportedly signed on for Danny Boyle‘s Trainspotting sequel.
-Martha Stewart accidentally called Jay Leno “Dave” during her Tonight Show appearance.
-Christina Aguilera looks slim and sultry on the set of her new music video.
-Melissa Joan Hart has cancelled her Kickstarter campaign after coming up $1,984,395 short of her $2 million goal. Ha!
-Oh crap oh crap oh crap — are they actually going to attempt to Kickstart the Friday Night Lights movie? I don’t think this film needs a huge budget, but the show always looked so damn good that it set a pretty high bar. The finale was pretty much perfect, so unless they’re willing to put some real money behind it, why bother?
-Scarlett Johansson is set to make her directorial debut with an adaptation of Truman Capote‘s Summer Crossing. Ugh.
-In news that should surprise -20 people, Kelly Rowland admits to being jealous of Beyonce.
-This Being Canadian documentary looks pretty great!
-Shakira is staying put on The Voice next year, as are Usher and Cee Lo. I guess all that talk of leaving yesterday was just negotiation tactics.
-Louis CK talks about immigrating from Mexico and being an “accidental white person” in the new issue of Rolling Stone.
-Kate Bosworth is teaming up with TopShop for a festival collection, because going to music festivals is basically all she does these days.
-I really like Miley Cyrus‘ jumpsuit, but both Lena Dunham and Gwyneth Paltrow wore it first.
-A new trailer for Pacific Rim just dropped. It needs more shirtless Idris Elba. And by “more” I mean “any.”
