The Gwen Stefani collection for OPI is finally here! It seems like they have been teasing us for months (well, quite literally, I first started reading about the nail polishes back in October) with gorgeous promo shots. And now they are here! 5 delicious shades which are a little bit punk, and a whole lot of glam. OPI are known for their celebrity collabs. Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Selena Gomez, just to name a few, have all lent their style and flair to OPI. Gwen Stefani is such an obvious choice, I am surprised it has taken them this long to hook up with her. She has always been the perfect combo of music and fashion and her style is, well, just as punk and glam as these nail polishes!
The nail polishes come in 6 shades of Gwen attitude. I have put in my (online) order for I Sing in Color. The color is like smooth deep velvety chocolate (a friend of mine said raisin, but I think chocolate sounds sexier…lol) and soft enough to wear even in the office, even though it is a darker shade. 4 in the Morning is greyish-black with little gold flecks mixed in. Just like a sky that’s beginning to turn from night into morning. Hey Baby pink is as vibrant and bright as its song namesake and Love. Angel. Music. Baby. is a pale gold with a sheen shimmer, reminding me for some reason of Oscar statues. Would be great for Oscar parties, by the way! In True Stefani fashion is a clear glitter, brilliant on its own, or used as a top coat. (With I Sing In Colour, for example.)
Then there’s the signature Gwen nail polish Over & Over A-Gwen. A gleaming red hot shade like her signature style lipstick. It comes with some Swarowski accents so you can get creative with some nail art, however, I think it looks stunning just on its own. All are reasonably priced, mine cost £10.95 from Kaydee Cosmetics and Nails (via Amazon). The online shop is full of delicious goodies, well worth having a look!
